Scott Westerfeld is the author of Uglies[1]. He was born on May 5, 1963. He graduated Vassar in 1985 and wrote his first book, Polymorph, in New York in 2001. He has written twenty books, including the Uglies series and his manga, Shay's Story. His book, So Yesterday has been optioned for a movie and has won the Victorian Premier's Award, whereas Peeps and Uglies were both named "Best Books for Young Adults" in 2006 by the American Library Association.
