A Pretty is a former Ugly who has passed 16 years of age or older and has gotten the first operation to become pretty. The operation gives them lesions in their brains, causing them to become unable to think the way they used to, they think of everything to be "bubbly," and want to be "bubbly."
Middle Pretty[]
A Middle Pretty is a Pretty who has gotten the second operation, becomes more mature and gets a job.
Late Pretty[]
- Late Pretties are Pretties who have gotten the third and final operation. They are elderly and live in Crumblyville.
Special Circumstances[]
These are pretties that look pretty in a "cold way." They are given superhuman speed and strength. They are the main antagonists in the book Uglies. Everyone who is not a Special is seen by the Specials as inferior or disusting, some are unable to stand non-Specials.
